HERMISTON — The newly renovated Hermiston Public Library reopens to the public Oct. 10. The event gets under way at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting followed by guided tours, treats and giveaways. Highlights of the year-long renovation include a new Makers Space equipped with 3-D printing, a heat press, vinyl cutter and engraving tools; expanded children’s and teen areas; and upgraded study rooms to meet the growing demand for academic and personal workspaces. Other improvements at the library include additional natural lighting with expanded windows throughout the building. The library is at 235 E.
