During the meeting, many members of the public showed up to express their concerns and frustration about the level 3 ICU’s future. A common complaint was that the microphones used at the meeting were not loud enough or that panel members were speaking too quietly. This frustration boiled over and led to people leaving throughout the two-and-a-half hour meeting. It reads: “Westmorland and Furness Council would also like to apologise to those who found it difficult to hear proceedings. “The council is reviewing options to improve accessibility at future meetings.”The meeting ended with the committee deciding to recommend that a “full public consultation” should took place on the proposal affecting the ICU at FGH.
