Sheila even paid for the entertainment and buffet herself so that every pound raised could go to charity. In total, £260 was donated to Cancer Research UK and £350 to Ulverston's St Mary’s Hospice - making a grand total of £610. She has served on the West Shore Park Residents Association and continues to support local activities.
