Faisal Food Store on Derby Street applied for the new canopy with steel roller shutters on the store front. It will extend 1.2m onto the public footpath and cover the steel stands that the store already uses to display fruit and vegetables. The planning report said that the proposed canopy would "create permanent cover for any displayed produce". They said that the shop is in a mixed-use area and there are other shops in the area with forward-projecting shopfronts.
