Bolton Museum launched the exhibition, Reebok and Norman Walsh: The Bolton History of the Running Shoe, on July 5. The exhibit details the rise of Reebok from a small Bolton-based company to the moment it captured the massive North American market in the 1980s. The museum has welcomed more than 25,000 visitors to the exhibit since it opened. “It honours Bolton’s pioneering role in revolutionising the running shoe but also showcases the enduring spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines Bolton’s heritage.”A documentary film, Reebok and Walsh: The Bolton Shoemakers Who Reinvented the Running Show, was also commissioned by Bolton Museum. It celebrates Bolton's central role in the history of the running shoe and features interviews with Joe Foster, the founder of Reebok, and world-class athletes like Steve Kenyon and Hannah Kelly.
