Co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ben Cohen has staged a protest in front of the U.S. Capitol over waste in U.S. military spending. In front of a sign advertising the “Department of Pentagon Excess” (DOPE), which is a campaign against excessive defense budgets, Cohen used a chainsaw to dismantle a model of the Pentagon that was stuffed with fake dollar bills. His latest protest fits into his activism against war and follows previous arrests for disrupting Senate hearings over Gaza and domestic health crises. On Tuesday, Cohen spoke alongside retired Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson and Josephine Guilbeau, a former U.S. Army all-source Intelligence analyst to highlight what they have condemned as Pentagon waste.
