Costa portrait hangs in National Portrait GalleryGardening Australia host gets the people's choice over other celebs portraits for an honour in Canberra. A portrait of Gardening Australia host Costa Georgiadis has been unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. Georgiadis was chosen ahead of contenders including The Wiggles, presenter Tony Armstrong and actor Miranda Tapsell in the People’s Portrait campaign. “I’m thrilled to be given this honour, and am humbled that the public voted for me… It’s a bit surreal, like, I’m going into the National Portrait Gallery,” Costa said. “When I met Rob, the artist, I just knew it was in good hands.”Separately, ABC will also screen Portrait Artist of the Year later this year in which the winning portrait will hang in the National Portrait Gallery.
