The Government of Zimbabwe has announced that it is closely monitoring the prices and availability of essential goods to protect consumer purchasing power.
Officials highlighted that exchange rate stability and improved market discipline have contributed to better access to essential products such as mealie-meal, bread, sugar, rice, cooking oil, eggs, beef, chicken and soap.
These operations are designed to maintain fair trading practices and ensure compliance with regulations.
Formal traders reported increased sales volumes, attributing this to fair trading and improved consumer confidence.
“Enhanced compliance, fair trading practices and improved market discipline promoted by the Task Force on Business Malpractices continue to drive progress,” the Cabinet said.
