The Truman Show star Jim Carrey will be feted with an Honorary César at the 51st César Ceremony in Paris in February 2026. Recent recipients of the award – meted out by France’s Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma with the support of the ceremony’s broadcast partner Canal+ – have included Julia Roberts (2025), Christopher Nolan (2024), David Fincher (2023) Cate Blanchett (2022), Robert Redford (2019) and George Clooney (2017). Born in Canada, Jim Carrey first made a name for himself on the stand-up comedy scene and then on television, notably in In Living Color. The actor was made a Knight (Chevalier) in France’s National Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) in 2010 by French Culture Minister Frédéric Mitterrand for his significant contributions to art and film. The 51st César Ceremony will take place in the Olympia Theatre in Paris on February 27, 2026.
