(Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA : The US embassy in Kuala Lumpur will not update its social media accounts regularly during the ongoing government shutdown in Washington, except for urgent safety and security information.
The embassy said passport and visa services in the US and at embassies and consulates abroad will continue “as the situation permits”.
In a Facebook post today, it said information on services and operating status will still be available on travel.state.govThe shutdown began at midnight last night after a lapse in appropriations when Congress and the White House failed to reach a funding deal.
It is the first since 2019 during President Donald Trump’s first term.
