The embassy said passport and visa services in the US and at embassies and consulates abroad will continue “as the situation permits”. In a Facebook post today, it said information on services and operating status will still be available on travel.state.govThe shutdown began at midnight last night after a lapse in appropriations when Congress and the White House failed to reach a funding deal. It is the first since 2019 during President Donald Trump’s first term.
