(ABC 6 News) — In the aftermath of the tragic Annunciation Church shooting last month, Governor Tim Walz said he would call a special session on gun laws. In the latest KSTP/SurveyUSA poll, a majority of respondents agreed there should be a special session on gun violence and school safety. There wouldn’t be a vote on gun bans. Polling shows what Schier says likely is true as 86% of Democrats surveyed want a special session on gun violence, but only 43% of Republicans and 46% of Independents say the same. If there is a special session to address gun violence, respondents said mental health is the most important issue to address.
