NEW LONDON — Friday night, the Tatum Eagles (1-3) jumped out to a 10-0 lead over the West Rusk Raiders (3-1), only to fall 14-10. It marks the first time West Rusk has defeated Tatum in football since 1987. On three plays, the Eagles were unable to make any progress and settled for a 26-yard field goal from Kody Hines. Tatum OC Paul Burkhead commented, “We were very green up front without Tolbert (on the offensive line). We need to fix us.”If there is ever a restart in high school football, this is it.
