The Grand Ho Tram, a coastal resort with foreigner-only casino (pictured) southeast of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, might be one of two properties newly-allowed to offer gambling to economically-qualified locals. The other venue that might be given such permission is said to be at Van Don, in Quang Ninh province. Vietnam’s Sun Group is scheduled to open fully its US$2-billion casino resort at Van Don by the second quarter of 2032. GGRAsia approached the management at The Grand Ho Tram regarding the report in Lao Dong news outlet, but the management stated it was unable to comment. A pilot scheme activated in 2019 for locals’ play at Corona Resort & Casino, at Phu Quoc, lapsed on January 1 this year.
