Known as the opposition, it is the premium event offering the best chance to catch a glimpse of the amazing planet. During the opposition, Saturn is at its closest point to Earth and will visible opposite the Sun in the sky so it's fully illuminated and at its brightest point of the year. Assuming it's not too cloudy tonight this will be your best chance to see it in Hertfordshire. It should rise after sunset and be visible all night. A spokesperson for the Royal Observatory Greenwich said: This event will make Saturn easily visible to the naked eye.
