Mike Houlston, 65, said he was left disappointed after a trip to Asda Horwich Superstore. Following the error, Mike said he inspected his receipt again later that evening and said he discovered another item had also been charged incorrectly. He is now encouraging other shoppers to check their receipts to ensure that they have not also been overcharged. Mike said: "I checked the receipt and saw that a bottle of gin had been charged at £30.97, a price that I did not recognise. I went back to customer services and after having my receipt and a bottle scanned, waited for the assistant to check the price on the shelf.
