A stretch of Flixton Road, near the junction with Irlam Road, was closed due to flooding caused by the burst pipe, with other roads in the area closed. Meanwhile, some residents were left without water as United Utilities sought to repair the issue. A burst on the 36" main pipe on Flixton Road has caused most of the disruption, however United Utilities have said on Tuesday (September 23) morning that the pipe has now been repaired. However, I've just read the latest update which confirms the burst on the 36'' main on Flixton Road has now been repaired. As of Tuesday morning, part of Flixton Road, near the junction with Brook Road, remains closed.
