The Idaho Vandals and the San Jose State Spartans went blow for blow with each other and battled back and forth with touchdowns Saturday at the CEFCU Stadium in San Jose, Calif.
Idaho was coming off of two straight 10-plus play touchdown drives and looked primed to claim the game-sealing score.
Going into this matchup, San Jose State’s Lynch was 0-for-4 on field goals on the season.
After San Jose State scored its first touchdown of the quarter to cut UI’s lead to 14-7, it scored on every meaningful possession the rest of the way.
For the first San Jose State score of the contest, running back Jabari Bates broke free for an 87-yard touchdown.
