According to PEOPLE, the body of Jade McKissic, who was last seen on September 11, was found on Monday (September 15) near 4998 Spur 5 in Brays Bayou. The University of Houston confirmed McKissic’s death occurred off-campus and is under active investigation by the Houston Police Department. Jade ‘Sage’ McKissic was a campus resident and student employee, and a friend to many in our community,” UH Vice President for Student Affairs Paul Kittle wrote in a letter to students. A relative described McKissic’s death as a “total shock,” noting that she was a strong student active in both church and school groups.
