Eastern Savings and Loans have been leased 61-63 Austin Street by the council. The council own the freehold to the land and have chosen to renew the lease for the financial company who have leased the building for the last 15 years. Ipswich Borough Council stated that Eastern Savings and Loans are invested in the site and remain committed to it. Eastern Savings and Loans say their mission is to provide an ethical alternative to high-cost lenders, promote saving, and support financial inclusion. They aim to offer affordable loans and savings products to individuals in the East of the UK.
