Huge refurbishment of Grade-II listed library approved

Ipswich County Library will see a raft of changes including a new children's library, more public toilets and makers spaces found throughout the building.
Ipswich Borough Council have approved a huge refurbishment of Ipswich County Library(Image: Submitted)On the ground floor, a large information desk will occupy the centre of the main room, with the space of the current desk set for new toilets.
The reference library will move into the main section of the building, with a young person makers space also being built on the ground floor.
The office upstairs will be transformed into a community makers space, with more seating added for library users.
The approval of the application comes just over three months since Suffolk's libraries service was brought under the management of Suffolk County Council.
