Trial date set for man accused of killing cyclist in crash

Thomas Gibbs, of Church Road, Bentley, has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Benjamin Jacobs by careless or inconsiderate driving on May 18, 2023 in Church Road, Bentley, Ipswich Crown Court heard on Tuesday.
Forty-seven-year-old Mr Jacobs, from Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital where he died the next day.
Police, ambulance and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were all called to the scene of the collision.
At the time of the crash tributes were paid to Mr Jacobs, who was described as a much-loved dad and cyclist.
Gibbs’ trial will get underway at Ipswich Crown Court on December 1 and a pre-trial review will take place on November 26.
