The main line from London Liverpool Street to Norwich, which also runs through Ipswich and Stowmarket, was affected on Tuesday evening after a freight train broke down in Stowmarket. The 3.30pm service to Norwich was held at Stowmarket and as a result the 4.30pm service which arrives into Ipswich at 5.37pm was cancelled. The 5pm service from London was disrupted as a passenger on board had been taken ill. Greater Anglia confirmed at 5.45pm that services were no longer affected.
