The Kilwinning Labour member questioned whether the council leader’s promise of a road safety campaign had been fulfilled. In response, council leader Marie Burns said work was underway to update North Ayrshire’s broader approach to road safety. The SNP councillor said: "Given the importance of road safety for all of our communities, officers are currently reviewing our road safety strategy which is a key priority of the safer North Ayrshire Strategy, developed with a range of partners from across the Community Planning Partnership. "The result will be a refreshed strategy and action plan which will form the basis of all ongoing road safety campaigns." "Webinars on road safety education within primary schools, scheduled for November 2025 to tie in with national Road Safety Week."
