The college has been highlighted as a key partner in a signed agreement between aerospace manufacturer Aeralis and Prestwick Airport.
The agreement positions Scotland as a strong contender to assemble the next generation of Red Arrows aircraft.
The company is developing a British-designed, built and assembled replacement for the Red Arrows training jet.
If secured, the partnership would see Ayrshire College work to design training and courses that equip the workforce needed for the landmark programme.
Principal Angela Cox said: “Scotland is now a strong contender to assemble the next generation of Red Arrows aircraft, and Ayrshire College will ensure the skills pipeline is ready when this opportunity is secured.
