Mersey Care, one of the largest mental and community health trusts in the North West, is making it easier for students arriving in Merseyside for Fresher’s Week to access vital health support during their time in the region. Dr Noir Thomas, chief medical officer at Mersey Care, said: "It’s an exciting time for students arriving in the area, making new friends and fresh experiences, for some it’s the first time away from home. To help students navigate their options, Mersey Care has created an animation and a dedicated webpage outlining available services. Resources include details on urgent treatment and walk-in centres, urgent mental health support, staying safe and having fun on a night out, and other mental health services available for students. Topics covered include emotional wellbeing, social media, becoming independent, sexual health, and information on drugs and alcohol.
