Ford Transit van driver hit with hefty fine after drink driving

Kyle Laughton, of Earle Street, Earlestown, went before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 16.
Laughton, 26, pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving.
He was caught driving a Ford Transit van on Connaught Drive, Newton-le-Willows, with 54 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, in excess of the legal limit of 35.
He was disqualified from having a licence for 12 months, which can be reduced by three months upon completion of an approved course.
Laughton was also fined £438, and made to pay a £175 surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
