Firefighters attended the incident on East Lancashire Road on the afternoon of Saturday, September 20, with crews alerted at 2.34pm. One car was ablaze in a lay-by along East Lancashire Road. Four occupants of the vehicle were out of the car prior to fire service attending. Merseyside Police assisted with traffic management and to arrange the recovery of the vehicle. Fire crews had left the scene within an hour.
