['Tabitha Wilson']
St Helens Star | News
Merseyside’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Emily Spurrell, will hold her first public meeting with newly appointed Chief Constable Rob Carden on Wednesday (September 24), which will focus on issues including road safety, emerging crime trends and police accountability.
The session will examine how Merseyside Police is tackling gun and knife crime, child exploitation, modern slavery, retail crime and cybercrime.
It will also review data from Ms Spurrell’s public dashboard, including trends in serious violence, homicide, and call-handling performance.
Key police operations will be discussed, including hotspot policing to reduce violent crime, Project Medusa’s work targeting Country Lines exploitation, and efforts to disrupt cybercrime.
Road safety will also feature, with updates on the Vision Zero strategy to reduce road collisions and the progress of Operation Gears, which targets illegal use of e-bikes, e-scooters and off-road motorcycles.
