A QUANTITY of drugs have been taken off the streets of Lerwick in the last week after a series of pro-active police stops. Area commander Chris Sewell praised the work of local charity Dogs Against Drugs after they were involved with two of the incidents, one of which saw drugs with a street value in excess of £3,000 seized. On Thursday, as a result of a pro-active policing operation, benzodiazepine with a street value of around £270 was recovered from an address in Lerwick with the help of Dogs Against Drugs. And again on Friday the charity helped find class A and class B drugs worth in excess of £3,000 on a 54-year old male in Lerwick.
