Around 200 swimmers from all around the country were gearing up to take part in the Lyme Regis to Charmouth Challenge on Sunday (September 14). A popular event that started in 2015 and supports good causes, this year was the last event organised by Lyme Splash, with founder Karen Durham-Diggins set to hand the 'legacy' of the event over to a charity. In that time, Lyme Splash has raised more than £25,000 for all of its chosen charities, last year raising £3,200. “Sea swimming wasn’t such a ’thing’ when Lyme Splash started. We’ve had such wonderful emails from swimmers saying how our event started not only their love of open water swimming, in some cases, their business.”
