Enthusiasm for 'crazy' plans to transform phone boxes into writing hubs

Members of a local writers network presented initial ideas to Bridport Town Council to restore two phone boxes in the town centre, turning them into 'writing stations' to unite budding artists in the town.
At a finance and general purposes committee, it was heard that the phone boxes would cost £1 each to buy and are already fitted with electricity.
Lou Orza, a local storyteller, who presented the initial plans, said: “[We want to] inspire and encourage people to write.

Cllr Nigel Amor said: “It is a bit crazy but on the other hand, it is a bit of Bridport.”Kim said a business plan has now been drafted and will be submitted to the town council at the next available opportunity.
