The McDonald’s branch off the Monkeys Jump roundabout near Dorchester has been shut since earlier in the week. The fast-food restaurant is popular with thousands of locals in Dorchester and surrounding area as well as travellers along the A35. Now it is confirmed that the restaurant is closed for a refurbishment, with plans to open it later this month. The car park has been fenced off with a sign reading "Fry for now, we're closing on September 15 to make some exciting changes." The fast-food giant, which was celebrating its 25th anniversary in the UK, wanted to mark the occasion by expanding its food empire in Dorset.
