North Yorkshire Police say Clifford Ian Church, 62, of Harrogate, was wanted in connection with the ongoing rape investigation and for breaching his probation condition. Recommended reading:The force said the alleged rape was reported at 11.30am on Thursday (August 7) and the victim is a woman. A force spokesman said: “The investigation team worked closely with West Yorkshire Police as they believed that he was on the run over there. “Following his arrest, he was brought back to North Yorkshire for questioning and last night he was charged with rape, assault and false imprisonment. “He was remanded in custody and will appear before York Magistrates’ Court this morning (September 22).”
