Kading, 55, retired from the Brownwood Police Department, effective on June 6, 2025. Kading intentionally provided false information to law enforcement and failed to fulfill his duty as a driver after striking a fixture on the highway. On Friday, Sept. 5, at 7:21 a.m., Kading surrendered himself to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with filing a false report to a peace officer and failing to comply with duties upon striking a structure or fixture on a highway involving damages over $200, classified as Class B misdemeanors. The City of Brownwood, and the Brownwood Police Department are in great, capable hands.
