Prep girls soccer: Proctor bests Hermantown, Esko battles Duluth DenfeldWith the high school soccer season nearing a close, there were some tight battles across the Twin Ports tonight. Proctor outlasted Hermantown 2-1 while Esko shutout Duluth Denfeld 4-0. Midway through the first, Hawks midfielder Vienna Kolenda sent in a corner and Riley Holmgren snuck it into the goal. While it was tied at the half, Hansen scored again in the 50th minute to secure the win for Proctor. Esko aims to blank Cloquet/Carlton again when they meet at the home of the Lumberjacks at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
