A Northland man who allegedly stole $600 worth of clothing from a Dargaville store came a cropper thanks to CCTV. Police arrived at the Victoria Street store soon after being alerted to a theft at around 10.06am, on Monday, 22 September. “A review of in-store CCTV provided Police with a clear picture of a person who’d made no attempt to pay for items of clothing he left the store with,” Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer says. “He’d been identified on CCTV at the clothing store,” Detective Senior Sergeant Pilmer says. “It’s good to get such a quick result and really demonstrates the value of having CCTV installed,” Detective Senior Sergeant Pilmer says.
