During Tuesday’s meeting of the Brownwood Municipal Development District Board of Directors, outgoing board member Daniel Hutson was recognized for his eight years of service. Thanks to the Mayor, the City Council, City Manager Marshal McIntosh and Ray Tipton for letting me serve. Tipton also told the Board that sales tax numbers for the 2024-25 fiscal year finished 6.3% percent above budget, which will result in an extra $143,000 in revenue. Also, Kohler will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Brownwood plant at 3 p.m. Friday Oct. 10. Tipton also informed the Board that the new role of Assistant Director of Economic Development & Tourism is almost filled, with final interviews being conducted.
