They will also be included in the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 11, at 10 a.m. and during the halftime show of the football game versus East Texas Baptist University at Gordon Wood Stadium that begins at 2:30 p.m. “I am grateful for the foundation HPU provided, which has guided my career in public service and leadership,” he said. “I am grateful to Howard Payne for its role in shaping my academic, spiritual and personal development,” said Whetstone. Before attending HPU, Guzman graduated from Mexican Baptist Bible Institute (now Baptist University of the Americás) in 1972.
