The game show introduced the million dollar prize in 2008 and only 14 people have previously competed for a chance to win the top prize. To win the million dollars, a player has to spin the wheel and land on the million dollar wedge during a regular game, then guess a letter correctly to gain possession of the wedge. That player must win that round and then win the game to add the million dollar wedge to the bonus round wheel. In the bonus round, the player must land on the million dollar wedge on the bonus wheel and then guess the final puzzle correctly to win the prize. Christina Derevjanik became the fifth person to win the million dollar prize during the episode that aired on Tuesday (September 30).
