The buildings forming the extension are up and jobs were recently advertised for the new store that will be opening at the Northern Tower Retail Park in Retford. ‌Building of the retail park began in 2020 and the flagship Lidl store fronting the development opened in 2021. The retail park also includes several units that were built behind the Lidl - currently occupied by Sofa Emporium, Snap Fitness and one vacant unit being marketed. Plans were first unveiled for the Northern Tower Retail Park back in 2016 as part of a vision to transform a previously industrial site with a history dating back to the mid-1800s.
