Heidi Wood tried to pay the entry fee to get into Tuesday’s volleyball match between Bend High and Crook County, but the ticket counters would not accept the money. Paige Wood, the Crook County junior who just over a month ago was in a life-altering car crash, has been discharged from OHSU in Portland and has returned home to Prineville. “My foot kinda hurts,” Paige Wood said. “It is honestly amazing seeing everyone come together over something that you did that wasn’t supposed to happen,” Paige said. Nearly a month after the life-threatening crash, Paige — whose left leg is no longer at risk of amputation — was able to return to Prineville for the annual Blue and Gold scrimmage on Sept. 9.
