An 83-year-old Bend man was cited for reckless driving Friday morning after police say he caused a multi-vehicle crash that shut down part of NE Third Street for about an hour. The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. near the railroad underpass south of Franklin Avenue. According to Bend Police, Donald Davidson was driving a white Kia SUV northbound when he crossed the double-yellow line while attempting to pass several vehicles. Davidson was cited at the scene and released. Traffic was diverted while officers investigated the collision and arranged for the damaged vehicles to be towed.
