Design library could give Bend ADUs another boost
['Clayton Franke']
The Bulletin
Bend homeowners who want to fast-track an accessory dwelling unit on their property now have the luxury of choice.
The Bend Chamber of Commerce this week launched an online library of designs that have already been approved by the city of Bend, aiming to save owners time and money while getting more housing units on the ground faster.
ADUs are small, independent housing units that can either be attached or detached from a primary home.
Ryan Jennings, president of the design company, called ADUs a “modern solution for modern housing needs” in a press release.
Bend has approved nearly 1,000 secondary dwelling units since 2001, most within the last 10 years.
