The serious problem of utilizing confiscated beer came in for widespread discussion throughout the city.
Mrs. Eastes was formerly a member of the editorial staff of a Spokane newspaper, later a correspondent located in Hawaii.
The bill establishes a Steens Mountain Advisory Committee, which includes environmentalists, ranchers and local officials.
“This legislation was crafted with a delicate balance between the Steens Mountain area ranchers’ needs and society’s conservation goals,” said Jill Workman of the Sierra Club.
