The council was recognised at the RSPCA’s PawPrints Awards 2025, which celebrate councils and public bodies that go the extra mile to protect and promote animal welfare. Adrian Smith, councillor responsible for the environment at Tendring Council, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to receive these awards, which reflect the dedication of our staff, partners and community. "Animal welfare is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud to be setting high standards in both animal activity licensing and housing. Lee Gingell, public affairs manager at the RSPCA, said: "We’re delighted to recognise Tendring District Council with these awards.
