Essex Police, supported by officers from across the country, carried out a robust policing operation at the airport. The operation was to ensure the safe arrival and departure of the President, the First Lady, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and members of the Trump family. Following the President’s departure from Stansted on Thursday evening, chief supt, Simon Anslow said: “At Essex Police we have robust and well-rehearsed plans to facilitate the movement of heads of state through Stansted. “However we can never be complacent when it comes to the safety of VIPs or passengers and we have had a huge policing operation at Stansted this week to ensure the safety of all. “I am grateful to London Stansted Airport staff and all the passengers who travelled through Stansted this week who helped us ensure our policing operation was carried out smoothly.
