The Nordex Group has secured a first order from Ecuador. The wind farm will particularly support Ecuador’s energy supply during the Amazon dry season and help reduce the risk of blackouts. This project represents the first wind project for the Nordex Group in Ecuador. With only 69 MW of installed wind capacity across three projects so far, the wind farm will significantly boost renewable energy production in the Andean nation. Upon completion, Ecuador will have a total of 181 MW of installed wind power.
