The Essex Energy Switch offers residents the chance to secure a competitive fixed-rate deal on their energy bills. The scheme works by negotiating with energy companies on behalf of residents, who then compete in an auction to offer the lowest fixed price. Peter Schwier, concillor responsible for environment, waste reduction and recycling at Essex County Council, said: "Energy bills are rising again, and many people are feeling the pressure. "The Essex Energy Switch is a way to take control and bring down your bills. The Essex Energy Switch also provides 100 per cent renewable electricity, supporting efforts to lower household carbon emissions.
