Australian National University (ANU) Vice-Chancellor Genevieve Bell has resigned from her post, following a tumultuous term and intense media scrutiny. ANU Chancellor Julie Bishop announced at a public meeting with staff on Thursday 11th that Bell was stepping down as Vice-Chancellor. It has led to a swath of protests involving staff, students and the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU). ANU Chancellor Julie Bishop has also faced pressure to step down. The Vice-Chancellor role will be temporarily filled by Provost Rebekah Brown, who was the most senior officer at ANU after Bishop and Bell.
