These meetings, which feature guest speakers, are held on the last Friday of each month at the Navigator in Barrack Lane, starting at 7.30pm. Chairman Andy Schooler said: "Along with unlimited free admission to all of our visitor attractions throughout the summer, the monthly winter programme of talks is a very popular part of Harwich Society membership and the guest speakers provide a wide range of interesting subjects for our members to learn about." Adam Whiteman of the Colchester Archaeological Trust will open the winter season with a talk titled Unearthing the Unexpected – New discoveries in Roman Colchester. Andy said: "Adam is a regular speaker at our winter meetings and always provides a fascinating insight into the latest developments in the archaeology in the Colchester area. "I’m sure that he will get our winter programme off to a great start."
